**K.I.Z** is a Berlin hip-hop band known for its provocative and satirical style. The group was founded in 2000 and consists of the members Tarek Ebéné (Tarek K.I.Z), Maxim Drüner (Maxim), Nico Seyfrid (Nico K.I.Z) and originally also DJ Craft, who left the group in 2018. Their lyrics are characterised by black humour, socio-critical themes and often ironic exaggerations that poke fun at common clichés and norms. K.I.Z is considered one of the most important German-language rap formations that consciously set themselves apart from mainstream hip-hop and polarise with their sarcastic and often transgressive lyrics.
Their first album *Das RapDeutschlandKettensägenMassaker* was released in 2005 and laid the foundations for their reputation as a controversial and unpredictable rap group. With subsequent albums such as *Hahnenkampf* (2007) and *Hurra die Welt geht unter* (2015), they made their breakthrough and finally established themselves in the German hip-hop scene. In particular, *Hurra die Welt geht unter* was a huge success and reached number 1 in the German charts. With this album, K.I.Z showed that, in addition to provocation, they can also deal with more profound socio-political issues, such as criticism of capitalism, social inequality and the state of the world.
K.I.Z are known for their spectacular live performances, where they often appear in bizarre costumes and thrill the audience with energetic performances. Their political commitment is also a trademark of the group. Among other things, they campaign against racism, sexism and right-wing extremism, which is also reflected in their lyrics. Despite their often vulgar humour and radical statements, K.I.Z is one of the most influential and critical voices in German rap, combining social satire with provocative entertainment.
