Usher Raymond IV, better known as Usher, is a renowned R&B singer and actor from the USA. He was born on 14 October 1978 in Dallas, Texas, and grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. His musical journey began in church, where he sang in the choir at the age of 9.
His career took off when he was discovered on Star Search, an American talent show, and later signed by L.A. Reid, the co-founder of LaFace Records. His second album "My Way", released in 1997, brought him his first number one hit in the Billboard Hot 100 with "Nice & Slow" and two top two singles "You Make Me Wanna..." and "My Way".
His third album "8701", released in 2001, contained two more number one hits, "U Remind Me" and "U Got It Bad". Usher has established himself as one of the most successful artists of the decade, and his 2004 album "Confessions" sold over 20 million copies worldwide and was certified diamond by the RIAA.
