Uriah Heep is a British rock band that was founded in 1969 and is considered one of the most influential groups in hard rock and progressive rock. With their characteristic sound, which combines melodic guitars, striking organ sounds and polyphonic vocal harmonies, they had a significant influence on rock music in the 1970s. Alongside Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, the band is one of the pioneers of hard rock and was particularly successful in Europe and Japan.
Uriah Heep achieved their breakthrough with the album Look at Yourself (1971), followed by Demons and Wizards (1972) and The Magician's Birthday (1972), which includes some of her best-known songs such as Easy Livin' and The Wizard contained. These albums cemented their status as one of the leading rock bands of the era. Despite numerous line-up changes over the years, guitarist Mick Box remained the constant member and creative centre of the band.
Even after more than five decades, Uriah Heep is still active and continues to release new music. Their energetic live performances and timeless classics continue to delight fans worldwide. Their influence on the rock and metal scene is still felt today, and they remain one of the longest-lasting and most enduring bands in rock history.
