Energetic hardcore with open boundaries
Turnstile is a Baltimore-based band that has shaken up and redefined the hardcore scene with their blend of hardcore punk, alternative rock and a touch of pop experimentation. Since their formation in 2010, the band has stood for raw energy, uncompromising expression and a refreshing openness to genre boundaries.
Their breakthrough came with the album "Nonstop Feeling"but especially with "Glow On" from 2021, Turnstile were able to reach a wide audience beyond the hardcore scene. The album combines hard guitar riffs with dreamy synth pads, danceable rhythms and an almost spiritual sound aesthetic - without losing the power and directness for which the band is known.
Frontman Brendan Yates brings an unbridled energy to the stage with his charismatic voice and performance. Live, Turnstile are recognised as one of the most intense bands of their generation - their shows are ecstatic, wild and unifying at the same time. The band repeatedly emphasises the importance of community, positivity and breaking out of rigid structures.
Turnstile prove that hardcore doesn't have to be one-dimensional. With openness, creativity and a unique sound, they have conquered a firm place in the modern rock landscape - and show that loud and loving are not a contradiction in terms.
