Trettmann, whose real name is Stefan Richter, has made a name for himself in the music scene by combining different genres such as hip-hop, RnB and dancehall. His musical journey began in the 1990s when he first travelled to Jamaica and was heavily influenced by the music scene there.
His music career took off in 2006 when he released his debut single "Der Sommer ist für alle da!" under the name Ronny "RT" Trettmann. Since 2016, he has been performing simply as Trettmann and began his collaboration with producer team KitschKrieg. They released three EPs in quick succession.
Trettmann has released several albums over the course of his career. His first album "Zwei chlorbleiche Halunken" was released in 2010. This was followed by "Tanz auf dem Vulkan" (2013), "#DIY" (2017), "Trettmann" (2019) and most recently "Insomnia" (2023). His album "#DIY" was the final breakthrough in 2017. Two years later, "Trettmann" was released and, despite all this history, we still seem to be at the very beginning of a great story.
His lyrics, which he delivers in a style between rap and modulated vocals, are another trademark of his music. He is known for his emotive autotune vocals and his unique blend of trap, rap, future pop and dancehall.
