The Marcus King Band is an American southern rock and blues band founded in 2013 by the talented guitarist and singer Marcus King. The band combines elements of blues, rock, soul and jazz and has quickly made a name for itself thanks to King's virtuoso guitar playing and his distinctive, emotional voice. Their self-titled album The Marcus King Band (2016), produced by Warren Haynes (Gov't Mule, The Allman Brothers Band), brought them great recognition in the blues and rock scene.
Marcus King, who comes from a family of musicians, impressed with his extraordinary talent at a young age. With songs like Rita Is Gone or Goodbye Carolina he demonstrated his ability to combine profound lyrics with powerful instrumentation. The band is known for its energetic live performances, which are characterised by extended jam sessions, and has gained a loyal fan base through its joy of playing.
In addition to his work with the band, Marcus King also pursues solo projects. His album El Dorado (2020), produced by Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), received a Grammy nomination and showed a soulful, personal side to his songwriting.
