Samra, real name Hussein Akkouche, was born on 15 January 1995 in Berlin-Lichterfelde. He is a German artist with Lebanese roots whose work is largely categorised as German rap.
He began his career in 2009 under the stage name Pimp Hussin and released his first songs. After further name changes to Samra45 or Samra, which means "the dark one" in Arabic, he joined the Berlin rapper Alpa Guns Caney Armee.
In 2017, Samra signed a contract with Bushido's label Ersguterjunge. His first single "Rohdiamant" was released in April 2018 and reached number 26 in the German charts. In November 2018, Samra had his first solo number one hit in Germany with "Cataleya".
Samra has released several albums and EPs throughout his career, including "Jibrail und Iblis" (2020) and "Rohdiamant" (2021). He owns his own label, Cataleya Edition, which is published by Sony Music Publishing.
