Progressive rock legends with technical mastery

Rush was a Canadian rock band that is considered one of the most influential groups in progressive rock. The trio, consisting of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart, characterised rock for decades with complex compositions, virtuoso playing and intellectual lyrics. Rush stood for musical precision, innovation and artistic independence.

Musically, the band combined progressive rock with hard rock elements and later also synthesiser sounds. They were characterised by sophisticated time changes, long song structures and thematically profound lyrics. Songs like Tom Sawyer, Limelight or The Spirit of Radio show their ability to combine technical sophistication with catchy melodies.

Live, Rush were regarded as an exceptional band: technically almost perfect, full of energy and yet clearly focussed on the music itself. Their concerts were characterised by instrumental virtuosity and great joy in playing. With their unique style, Rush influenced generations of musicians and secured themselves a permanent place in rock history.
