Between vulnerability and coolness
ROLE MODEL, real name Tucker Pillsbury, is an American singer and songwriter who is inspiring a growing fan base with introspective lyrics and a soulful mix of pop, R&B and indie. Born in Maine in 1997, he initially began his musical career as a rapper, but soon found his very own, quieter style - characterised by minimalist beats, gentle melodies and honest lyrics.
His songs often deal with self-doubt, love, mental health and growing up. It is precisely this emotional openness and bluntness that makes him so approachable for many of his listeners. Tracks such as "blind", "minimal" or "if jesus saves, she's my type" are characterised by a melancholy mood, but are also catchy and modern in their production.
With his debut album Rx (2022), ROLE MODEL finally established himself as a voice of Gen Z - sensitive, reflective and at the same time cool in his restraint. He also knows how to impress live: more quiet than loud, but with a presence that gets under your skin.
