Leony

Leony, whose real name is Leonie Burger, was born on 25 June 1997 in Chammünster. She is a well-known German pop singer and songwriter.

She began her career in 2014 on the RTL show "Rising Star" under the band name Unknown Passenger. After a few gigs in smaller clubs, the band disbanded and Leony began performing as a solo artist.

In 2016, she signed a contract with Sony Music in Australia. Her first songs were written in Sweden, and she released her debut single "Surrender" in 2017. Her breakthrough came in July 2020 with a reinterpretation of the Modern Talking song "Brother Louie", a collaboration with Vize, the Kazakh artist Imanbek and Dieter Bohlen.

In 2023, Leony took part in the 20th season of the casting show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" as a judge. She wrote the final songs for the last candidates, two of which reached the official charts in the DACH region.

In March 2024, it was announced that Leony would sing the official song for the 2024 European Football Championship. She has also won several awards, including the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2023 for "Favourite Earworm: Germany, Austria, Switzerland" (for "Remedy") and the Radio Regenbogen Awards 2023 for "Pop National".

Her album "Somewhere in Between" was released on 24 March 2023 and reached number 20 in the German charts and number 28 in the Austrian charts.
