After a five-year break, Kerry King, guitarist of the legendary thrash metal band Slayer, is back with his solo project and the album "From Hell I Rise", which will be released on 17 May. In addition to King on guitar, he is supported by renowned artists such as Mark Osegueda (Death Angel) on microphone, bassist Kyle Sanders (formerly Hellyeah), guitarist Phil Demmel (Vio-lence, formerly Machine Head) and drummer Paul Bostaph, a former colleague from the Slayer days.
Musically, Kerry remains true to his heritage and relies on the distinctive sound that made Slayer famous. Two of the songs on the album even originate from the songwriting sessions for Slayer's "Repentless". The track "Idle Hands" already offers a promising foretaste of what listeners can expect from Kerry's new work.
