Garbage is an American rock band that was founded in 1993 in Madison, Wisconsin. The band's line-up consists of Scottish singer Shirley Manson and the American musicians Duke Erikson (guitar, bass, keyboards), Steve Marker (guitar, keyboards) and Butch Vig (drums, production). Since their second album, the group has also been accompanied by bassist Daniel Shulman.
The band has released a number of albums, including "Garbage" (1995), "Version 2.0" (1998), "Beautifulgarbage" (2001), "Bleed Like Me" (2005), "Not Your Kind of People" (2012), "Strange Little Birds" (2016) and "No Gods No Masters" (2021). Their music is a mixture of alternative, rock and hard rock.
Garbage is known for its catchy melodies and the charismatic presence of its frontwoman Shirley Manson. Their songs such as "Stupid Girl", "Only Happy When It Rains" and "Push It" have achieved international success.
