dArtagnan is a German folk-rock band from Nuremberg. The band's name is derived from the historical figure d'Artagnan, who also became famous as the main character in the novel The Three Musketeers. The band was founded in 2015 by singer Ben Metzner, who also plays mandolin, bagpipes and flute in the band, Felix Fischer, who is active as a guitarist and backing vocalist, and guitarist and singer Tim Bernard.
Many of their songs are interwoven with traditional songs - with melodies that in some cases echoed through the streets hundreds of years ago. They try to convey what is important to them and what has always meant something to people: Big changes start small, but never without a certain amount of lust for life, compassion, friendship and never without the courage to tackle something and look ahead.
Their debut album "Seit an Seit" was released in February 2016 and immediately entered the German album charts at number 7. The band was awarded the Golden Record for the album in 2017. The album "Verehrt und verdammt" was released in September 2017 and reached number 11 in the German album charts.
