Curse, civil Michael Sebastian Kurthis a German rapper and systemic coach. His stage name is an allusion to his surname Kurthpronounced as a th sound with a German accent.
In the 1990s, Curse rapped with the band Phat Kickswhose former members later formed the band Treadmill founded. His lyrics are self-reflective and deal with his own experiences. His first studio album "Feuerwasser" from 2000 contains classic hip-hop tracks as well as failed love affairs and personal mistakes. Most of the beats were created by Sascha Busy Bühren produced.
Curse first attracted attention outside the hip-hop scene in 2001 with the album "Von Innen nach Außen". The album received international attention and was even released in Japan. On his third album "Innere Sicherheit" (2003), the style of the music changed: in addition to electronic beats, instruments such as flutes and piano ballads were also used. Political and socially critical lyrics characterised his music, often from a left-wing perspective.
