Blues Pills are returning with a brand new album and a single: "Birthday", the album's title track, will be released on 2 August 2024. The song is already doing the rounds. It tells the story of singer Elin Larsson's birthday. During a tour in Mexico, she invited the entire band and crew to celebrate, but a waiter decided to overstep all boundaries and spoil her birthday. With "Birthday", she consistently gets even with the guy, and the entire album is just as uncompromising.
Blues Pills decided to leave all boundaries and expectations behind to write music they love. Larsson was pregnant when she wrote this album, and often during the recordings she felt that her growing son gave her more energy and a new sense of freedom as she recorded the vocal tracks. Sometimes her voice is reminiscent of Brody Dalle, sometimes Janis Joplin, sometimes it's all soul, sometimes dry blues - Larsson delivers raw and powerful action with her outstanding voice. She is accompanied by Zack Anderson on guitar, André Kvarnström on drums and Kristoffer Schander on bass, who deliver infectious grooves that just don't want to end.
