Bad Religion

Since 1980, Bad Religion has had a lasting influence on the world of punk rock with its music and the insights of its members. Greg Graffin, the band's singer and songwriter, is not only a long-standing frontman, but also an evolutionary biologist with a doctorate. In an interview with the daily newspaper "taz" two years ago, he emphasised: "My life as an evolutionary biologist and university professor certainly doesn't fit the punk stereotype. Nevertheless, my biography has something punk about it, because for me punk is more a rebellion of the spirit." His bandmate, guitarist Brett Gurewitz, is also active in other fields, but keeps one foot firmly planted in punk rock: he is the founder and owner of the legendary Epitaph label, which had a considerable influence on the US punk scene. Despite their diverse activities, Bad Religion regularly show with strong album releases that the band remains in the spotlight.
