Trivium is a metal band from Orlando, Florida, that was founded in 1999 and has earned a firm place in the international scene with its powerful mix of thrash, metalcore and classic heavy metal. The band is particularly known for its technical finesse, catchy melodies and energetic live shows. The creative head of the band is frontman and guitarist Matt Heafy, whose versatile vocals and distinctive riffs characterise the band's sound.

With the 2005 album Ascendancy Trivium celebrated their worldwide breakthrough. Songs like "Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr" made them one of the hottest names of the new metal generation. In the years that followed, they continued to develop their sound - from the melodic choruses on The Crusade up to the harder, darker tones on Shogun or In Waves. They have always remained true to their claim of creating musically sophisticated and at the same time accessible metal.
