The Streets

The Streets have the unique gift of transforming the everyday into the extraordinary. Across five albums and a mixtape, they illuminate the intricacies of life from an average person's perspective and give them new meaning. From foggy club nights and waking up in a drunken stupor to the bureaucratic jungle of applying for unemployment benefits, no topic is left untouched. Frontman Mike Skinner, an icon of British hip-hop, has established himself as the voice of the working class, shaping garage, drum & bass, house, bassline, grime and rap music.

Now Skinner sheds light on his latest project: the album "The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light", which begins with a love letter to the club and cultural scene. In his self-financed and produced film of the same name, it becomes clear how the chaos of a club night becomes the pulsating centrepiece of his new audiovisual work.

In summer 2024, The Streets will perform at the Elbjazz Festival in Hamburg and give a headlining show in Berlin - the centre of the German club scene.
