**The Offspring** is an American punk rock band that was founded in California in 1984 and is considered one of the most influential bands of the 1990s. The band, consisting of frontman Dexter Holland, guitarist Noodles, bassist Todd Morse and drummer Pete Parada, achieved worldwide fame with their album *Smash* (1994). The singles *Come Out and Play* and *Self Esteem* in particular made them icons of the punk rock and skate punk scene. Their catchy melodies, fast guitar riffs and socially critical lyrics appealed to young listeners in particular and helped to establish punk rock in the mainstream.
In the following years, The Offspring released further successful albums such as *Ixnay on the Hombre* (1997), *Americana* (1998) and *Conspiracy of One* (2000). Hits such as *Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)* and *Why Don't You Get a Job?* characterised the music world of the late 90s and early 2000s. The band is known for their mix of humorous and often ironic lyrics as well as more serious topics such as social injustice and personal conflicts. Their musical style has always remained energetic and accessible, appealing to a broad fan base.
Even after several decades, The Offspring are still a force to be reckoned with in rock music. They have released numerous albums to date and continue to tour worldwide. Their 2021 album *Let the Bad Times Roll* shows that the band has maintained their signature blend of punk energy and catchy melodies while evolving musically. The Offspring remain an influential band that has been instrumental in shaping the punk rock movement.
