The boss from the Ruhrpott with an unmistakable sense of humour

SSIO, real name Siro Salime, comes from Schwerte in the Ruhr region and is one of the most colourful and wittiest voices in German rap. With his always strikingly masculine flow, tongue-in-cheek humour and clever, often exaggerated gangster lyrics, he manages to combine authenticity with self-irony - and motivate a loyal fan base in the process.

Since his breakthrough with the album Hoodroad (2016), SSIO delivers songs full of pithy attitude, enthusiasm for food ("0,5er", "Null Spaß"), wordplay and melodic catchy tunes. Classics such as "Türlich, Türlich (Sicher, Dicker)" or "Null, Dumm, Schwach" reflect his characteristic style: hard, funny, tight - and never superficial.

Live, SSIO is a ramp sow: he lets it rip, talks directly to the audience and brings his own world to the stage with his unique image - sunglasses, trucker cap, chainsaw as a stage accessory. His way of caricaturing clichés and performing with a lot of entertainment at the same time makes him one of the most original figures in German hip-hop.
