British garage and blues rock band Royal Blood seem to care little about whether their music is in the zeitgeist or not - and that's a refreshing approach in a time when rock music is often overlooked.
Their new album "Back To The Water Below" impressively demonstrates with powerful rhythms, booming guitar riffs and a pulsating bass that rock music still works perfectly in 2024. As usual, Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher deliver a rich band sound that hardly suggests that it's just two friends behind it. Their secret? "Three amps and a secret code of pedals," say the band.
Royal Blood was founded in Worthing, England, in 2013. They soon caught the attention of Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders, who supported the duo during a performance at the Glastonbury Festival. Within a very short time, Royal Blood conquered the British album charts and won the Brit Award for Best British Group.
