PARTYNEXTDOOR, with civil name Jahron Anthony Brathwaiteis a Canadian R&B singer, Songwriter and Producer. Born on 3 July 1993 in Mississauga, Ontariohe is best known for his abstract, dark and at the same time soulful music. His career began as a child when he became musically active. His mother, originally from Jamaica, was a member of a church choir in which Brathwaite regularly sang. Through his father, he was able to cultivate good contacts with other R&B artists. At the age of 17, he left Toronto to become a musician in Los Angeles. There he met the rapper Drake who became his great supporter. When Drake founded his label OVO Sound he was the first to take Brathwaite alias PartyNextDoor under contract.
His debut EP with the artist's name as the title was released in July 2013 and even made it into the R&B/Hip-Hop charts in the United States. The song "Recognize" from the EP, which featured Drake as a guest, also became an R&B hit and sold over a million copies in the USA (platinum status). The first album followed the following year with the title "PartyNextDoor Two", which immediately entered the US R&B charts at number 1 and gave him his first place in the official US charts. The album also charted in Canada and the UK.
PARTYNEXTDOOR also collaborated with Drake and was involved in the number one album "If You're Reading This It's Too Late", not only as producers and songwriters, but also as guest vocalists on two songs. Together, they reached the official charts in the USA and the UK with the song "Preach". Drake returned the favour in 2016 with the single "Come and See Me", which became PartyNextDoor's first single hit in the US charts and went gold. This single was the lead single for the album "PartyNextDoor 3" (also as PX3 which was released at the beginning of August 2016. It not only outperformed its predecessor, but was also successful beyond the English-speaking world, reaching number 36 in Switzerland, among other places. "Come and See Me" was honoured at the Grammy Awards 2017 nominated as best R&B song of the year.
In addition to the collaboration with Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR also works for other musicians. He was one of the authors of Rihanna's number one hit "Work" 12.
