Nickolas Gene “Nick” Carter, born on 28 January 1980 in Jamestown, New York, is an American singer and actor. He is best known as a member of the boy band Backstreet Boys, which has been successful since the 1990s. In addition to his work with the Backstreet Boys, Carter has also pursued a solo career, releasing his first solo album, Now or Never, in 2002.
Carter was born in 1980, the eldest son of Robert Gene Carter and Jane Elizabeth Spaulding. He had four siblings and an older half-sister from his father's previous marriage. His brother Aaron, who passed away in November 2022, and his sister Leslie, who died in January 2012, were also involved in the music business. He has been married to actress and film producer Lauren Kitt Carter since 2014 and has three children.
In the 1980s, the Carter family moved from New York to Florida, where Nick took part in various auditions for commercials, films and television. These experiences earned him minor roles at an early age, such as in „Edward Scissorhands“. In 1993, he became the youngest member of the Backstreet Boys and quickly rose to become the most popular member of the group and a teenage idol.
In summer 2024, Nick Carter will be coming to Germany with his “Who I Am” tour. The tour will take place in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt and Munich.
