Michael Patrick Kelly

**Michael Patrick Kelly**, also known as *Paddy Kelly*, is an Irish-American singer, songwriter and producer who rose to fame as a member of the successful pop family band *The Kelly Family*. Born in Dublin in 1977, Kelly grew up in a musical family and became a star at an early age as The Kelly Family rose to become a Europe-wide sensation in the 1990s. With hits such as *An Angel* and *I Can't Help Myself*, the band thrilled an audience of millions, and Michael Patrick, with his distinctive voice and songwriting skills, was regarded as one of the band's centrepieces.

After the end of the Kelly Family's heyday, Kelly initially turned his back on music to start a new life as a monk.
