Mastodon

Mastodon is an American progressive metal band from Atlanta, Georgia, who have been one of the most innovative and influential bands in their genre since their formation in 2000. With a mixture of sludge, progressive metal and hard rock, they have created a unique sound characterised by complex song structures, epic concepts and impressive technical skills. Their debut album Remission (2002) laid the foundation for her success, but with Leviathan (2004), a concept album about Moby Dick, was their international breakthrough.

In the years that followed, Mastodon continued to develop their style. Albums like Blood Mountain (2006), Crack the Skye (2009) and The Hunter (2011) showed their ability to combine brute heaviness with melodic sophistication.
