Mario Barth

Mario Barth is a well-known German comedian and presenter. He was born on 1 November 1972 in West Berlin. Barth has five siblings and his parents come from Ulm and Upper Bavaria. He attended the private Catholic school St Marien in Neukölln and was an altar boy in his youth.

Barth trained as a communications electronics technician at Siemens in Berlin, specialising in telecommunications. He then took acting lessons and gained his first stage experience with short appearances in the television programmes NightWash and Quatsch Comedy Club.

His breakthrough came with the stage programme "Männer sind Schweine, Frauen aber auch!". Since then, he has presented several successful programmes and shows, including "Männer sind primitiv, aber glücklich!", which won the German Comedy Award in the Best Live Comedy category.

In July 2008, Barth set the world record as the "live comedian with the largest audience" by performing in front of around 70,000 spectators at the Olympiastadion Berlin. His programmes are often humorous observations on relationships between men and women.
