Laura Pausini, born on 16 May 1974 in Faenza, is an Italian pop singer and Grammy award winner. She became known to a wider audience when she won the newcomer category at the 1993 Sanremo Festival with the song "La solitudine".,Pausini sings mostly in Italian, but also in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
