Kontra K, real name Maximilian Tibor Albert Diehn, was born in Berlin on 3 July 1987. He discovered his love of rap at the age of 16 and emulated his American idols Nas, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G. and Naughty by Nature.
In 2006, he founded the rap duo Vollkontakt with KiezSpezial. After the dissolution of Kaisa's label, with which Vollkontakt was under contract, Kontra K founded the label DePeKaRecords. His debut album "Dobermann" was released in 2010.
Kontra K is known for his socially critical lyrics and his mixture of rap and motivation. His music is created in collaboration with his main producer from Berlin.
Over the course of his career, Kontra K has released several albums, including "Labyrinth" (2016), "Gute Nacht" (2017), "Erde & Knochen" (2018), "Sie wollten Wasser doch kriegen Benzin" (2019), "Vollmond" (2020), "Aus dem Licht in den Schatten zurück" (2021) and "Für den Himmel durch die Hölle" (2022). Kontra K's song "Wenn das Schicksal trifft" is the official anthem of the first season of the European League of Football.
