Kolja Goldstein

Kolja Goldstein, real name Nicolas Thomas Sheahan, was born on 27 November 1991 in Augsburg and grew up in Rohrbach. Although he comes from a good home, he came into conflict with the law at an early age. According to his own statement, he trained as a chef at Feinkost Käfer and worked in high-end catering, including in Paris.

His criminal past, which he addresses in his lyrics, includes convictions for various offences and stays in several European prisons, according to his own statements. These experiences characterise his musical style, which can be classified as gangsta rap. In his songs, he describes criminal activities in detail and plays with his own connections in the milieu.

He first appeared musically under the stage name Kolja and collaborated with rapper Ali As. After moving to Amsterdam in 2019, he released the song "Alles im Griff" in 2020 under the name Kolja Goldstein, which launched his solo career. His music is characterised by concrete and detailed descriptions of criminal activities, often playing with his own connections to the underworld.

In April 2023, his flat in Amsterdam was stormed by a special unit of the Dutch police after an international arrest warrant was issued for him. Despite these controversies, Kolja Goldstein remains a defining figure in German-language gangsta rap, with his authenticity and portrayal of the criminal milieu provoking both fascination and criticism.
