
Jorja Alice Smith, born on 11 June 1997 in Walsall, West Midlands, England, is a renowned British singer. Her musical style has been compared to that of Adele, Alicia Keys and FKA twigs.
Smith grew up in a musical environment; her father was a member of a neo-soul band. She first learnt to play the piano, then the oboe. During her school years, she received classical singing lessons. She took part in a music collective and began to publish music online.
Their first release, "Blue Lights", appeared on the SoundCloud platform in January 2016. This was followed by "A Prince" with Maverick Sabre and "Where Did I Go?", which rapper Drake described in an interview as his favourite song at the time. In the same year, Smith accompanied Drake on his UK tour.
Her debut album "Lost & Found" was released in June 2018. Her second album "Falling or Flying" was released in September 2023. She performed at Jazzopen Stuttgart in 2022.
Smith has won several awards, including the Critics' Choice Award at the BRIT Awards in January 2018, and in February 2019 she won the Brit Award in the Best British Female Solo Artist category.
In September 2024, she will make guest appearances in Berlin and Cologne as part of her "falling or flying" tour. Her music has a profound impact and will continue to inspire people all over the world.
