Ina Müller

Music, humour and North German charm

Ina Müller is one of Germany's most versatile artists - singer, cabaret artist, author and successful TV presenter. Born in Köhlen near Cuxhaven in 1965, she grew up in an agricultural environment with five sisters. After training as a pharmaceutical-technical assistant, she decided to take to the stage in the 1990s and founded the music cabaret duo together with Edda Schnittgard Queen Beewhich became particularly well known for its Low German lyrics and cheeky stage presence.

Ina Müller started her solo career as a singer in 2005. Her music, often with humorous, true-to-life lyrics and a North German flavour, ranges from chansons and pop to soulful ballads. Albums like Love makes you deaf, 48 or 55 regularly landed in the German charts. Alongside her music, she impressed audiences with her astute, witty and sometimes outrageously honest presentations.

With her TV programme Ina's night she has achieved cult status. Since 2007, she has been welcoming musicians, actors and celebrities to a harbour pub in Hamburg to chat, laugh and sing with them - always accompanied by the quaint atmosphere, a sailors' choir outside the window and an often slightly buzzed audience.

Ina Müller remains a permanent fixture in the German cultural landscape thanks to her directness, her flair for stories and her ability to combine music with personality. She is down-to-earth, quick-witted and authentic - and that is exactly what makes her so popular.
