In Extremo is one of the most successful and influential bands in the field of medieval rock. Founded in Berlin in the 1990s, they fuse traditional medieval music with modern rock and metal. Their sound is characterised by historical instruments such as bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy and shawm, combined with electric guitars, thunderous drums and a powerful stage presence.

Initially, In Extremo performed as an acoustic trio at medieval markets before they began to combine their acoustic sounds with rock elements in 1995. Since then, the band has become an integral part of the German music scene - with a loyal fan base and numerous chart successes. Albums like Honoured and spit on, Singing war or Compass to the sun testify to their musical versatility and energy.
