Hämatom is a German metal band that has been attracting attention with its uncompromising sound, masked stage aesthetics and critical lyrics since its formation in 2004. The four members - named after the cardinal points North, South, East and West - combine hard guitar riffs, thunderous drums and electronic elements with a flair for catchy choruses and great stage production.

Musically, Hämatom move between Neue Deutsche Härte, metal and punk - a powerful mixture that inspires both moshing and reflection. Their lyrics address social grievances, political hypocrisy, personal crises and anger at systems that marginalise or oppress. They manage the balancing act between seriousness and ironic provocation - not least thanks to their eye-catching look with the striking masks.

Albums like We are God, Love is dead or Long live hate have brought the band not only into the charts, but also onto the big festival stages. Hämatom stands for energetic live shows, a direct approach to the audience and a clear stance: against intolerance, in favour of diversity and self-determination.
