Faithless

Faithless is a British electro and dance band that enjoyed great success in the 1990s and is still considered one of the most influential groups in electronic music today. The band was founded in 1995 by Maxi Jazz (vocals), Sister Bliss (keyboards, production) and Rollo Armstrong (production). Their style combines trance, house and trip-hop with profound lyrics and a unique atmosphere.

Her debut album Reverence (1996) brought hits like Insomnia which, with its driving beat and iconic lyrics, became one of the most famous dance tracks of all time. Later songs like God Is a DJ and We Come 1 emphasised their socio-critical and spiritual approach. Especially live, Faithless were known for their energetic performances, in which Maxi Jazz's calm, haunting voice captivated the audience.

After several farewells and comebacks, the band suffered a heavy loss in 2022 with the death of Maxi Jazz. Despite this setback, Faithless remains a defining force in the electronic music scene. Their legacy lives on in clubs, festivals and among fans who long for their unique sound, which is somewhere between danceable and profound.
