Ennio, real name Ennio Frankl and also known as Emotional Club, is an up-and-coming German musician. He was born in 1999 or 2000 and grew up in Munich. His parents chose his first name in honour of the composer Ennio Morricone.
Ennio began his musical career in 2016 under the artist name Emotional Club and released electronic English-language indie music. His best-known song under this name is "Crystal". The role models for his musical style include Tom Misch and FKJ.
Since 2021, he has been releasing German-language and sometimes more acoustic tracks under the name Ennio. The dynamics that the change of language has given his voice are reminiscent of Henning May. On the same day as the release of his first single as Ennio called "Blaulicht", he played the first concert as the support act for a tour by Provinz. He also accompanied Jeremias and Majan on tour.
After playing at a number of festivals in summer 2022, including Waves Vienna and the Reeperbahn Festival, he embarked on his first tour in eleven cities in Germany and Austria in December 2022. The venues he played include the Felsenkeller in Leipzig, Skaters Palace in Münster and the E-Werk in Erlangen. He also performed at Late Night Berlin in November.
Ennio has released several EPs, including "Stundenull" (2022) and "Rimini Tape" (2023). He has also collaborated with Provinz and released the single "James Blake", which was placed in the German charts.
Ennio was honoured with the New Music Award in 2022. With his unique voice and talent, Ennio has left a lasting impression on the German music scene.
