From TV star to world hip-hop star

Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, is one of the most influential artists of our time. The Toronto-born rapper, singer and songwriter began his career as an actor in the Canadian series "Degrassi: The Next Generation" before taking off musically in 2009 with the mixtape "So Far Gone". Since then, he has established himself as a permanent fixture in the global music business with hits such as "Hotline Bling", "God's Plan", "One Dance" and "In My Feelings".

His trademark is the combination of introspective rap, catchy hooks and emotional vocals, through which he has significantly shaped the "melancholic sound" of modern hip-hop. He confidently mixes influences from R&B, trap, Afrobeat and pop, ensuring that his sound never stagnates. With albums such as "Take Care", "Nothing Was the Same", "Views" and "Scorpion", Drake regularly dominates the charts and streaming platforms.

Away from music, Drake is also a successful entrepreneur - with his label OVO Sound, fashion projects and a strong presence in the basketball business, among other things. Despite criticism of his omnipresence or musical versatility, Drake remains an artist who characterises his time: style-defining, controversial, but always relevant.
