DJ Bobo

**DJ BoBo**, real name Peter René Baumann, is a Swiss singer, dancer and music producer who became one of Europe's best-known Eurodance artists in the 1990s. Born in 1968 in Kölliken, Switzerland, DJ BoBo began his career as a break dancer before turning to music production. His breakthrough came in 1992 with the single *Somebody Dance with Me*, which made him internationally famous. His mixture of catchy dance beats, rap elements and pop melodies struck a chord with the times and made him a central figure in the Eurodance wave.

In the following years, DJ BoBo landed further chart successes with songs such as *Freedom*, *Let the Dream Come True* and *Love Is All Around*. His trademarks were positive messages, danceability and catchy choruses that dominated clubs and radios, especially in the 1990s. In addition to his music, DJ BoBo is also known for his spectacular stage shows, which feature elaborate choreography and impressive effects. These concerts helped him to build up a loyal fan base that accompanies him to this day.

Although the great commercial success of the Eurodance era waned at the end of the 1990s, DJ BoBo remained active in the music business. He continued to release albums, including *Mystorial* (2016) and *KaleidoLuna* (2018), and celebrated his 30th anniversary on stage.
