Andreas Gabalier

Andreas Gabalier is an Austrian musician and singer who is one of the best-known representatives of the popular Schlager and the so-called "folk rock'n'roll" movement. Born on 21 November 1984 in Graz, he made his breakthrough in 2009 with his debut album *Da komm' ich her*. His unmistakable style combines traditional folk music with rock and pop elements, which has earned him a wide following and numerous chart successes. Gabalier often wears lederhosen and combines modern and traditional values in his music, making him a favourite with audiences in German-speaking countries.

His hit *I sing a Liad für di* (2011) became one of his best-known songs and also brought him international attention. Andreas Gabalier has managed to create a new kind of folk music with his mixture of folksy melodies and catchy pop rhythms, which is particularly popular with young people.
