AnnenMayKantereit is one of the most successful and distinctive German bands of recent years. Founded in Cologne in 2011, the trio - consisting of Christopher Annen (guitar), Henning May (vocals, piano) and Severin Kantereit (drums) - became known above all for Henning May's exceptionally smoky voice and their emotionally charged lyrics. Their songs move stylistically between indie rock, pop and singer-songwriter - always with a very personal, direct tone.

The band began as a street music project, which is still reflected in their earthy, unaffected style today. With songs such as "Often Asked", "Barefoot at the Piano" and "Tom's Diner" (together with Giant Rooks), they achieved great success, both commercially and in the hearts of a loyal audience. Their lyrics deal with topics such as interpersonal relationships, self-doubt, the search for meaning and everyday life with all its fractures - honest, melancholic and hopeful at the same time.
