Craig David

UK garage, R&B and pop, ranging from club vibes to soul and soulful songs

Craig David blends British R&B with UK garage, 2-step, soul and modern pop. His distinctive vocals range from soulful melodies to rhythmically spoken passages, whilst his productions are often characterised by driving beats and warm electronic sounds. In doing so, he blends urban club culture with accessible pop.

Thematically, his work focuses primarily on love, relationships, longing and personal experiences. His songs often explore closeness and distance, encounters, and the emotional highs and lows of interpersonal relationships. In doing so, he strikes a balance between a romantic atmosphere, an urban lifestyle and personal candour.

In his live performances, Craig David combines his biggest hits with a modern, high-energy stage sound. The mix of R&B ballads, garage classics and danceable tracks ensures a varied concert experience. His distinctive voice and the rhythmic energy of his songs work just as well in large venues as they do on festival stages.

Craig David is one of the defining artists of the British UK garage and R&B scene. Through his early success, he played a key role in introducing the British garage sound to an international pop audience. Over several generations, he has continued to develop his style whilst maintaining his connection to R&B, soul and electronic club music.
