Dieter Thomas Kuhn & Band

Schlager, nostalgia and a generous helping of that summer feeling

Dieter Thomas Kuhn & Band are known for their unique blend of classic Schlager, pop and a lively party atmosphere. With their unmistakable style, they perform well-known Schlager hits with plenty of energy, charm and a deliberately over-the-top retro look. Catchy melodies are accompanied by brass, guitars and a powerful band sound.

The lyrics focus primarily on love, longing, heartbreak and the grand emotions of the Schlager genre. At the same time, Dieter Thomas Kuhn approaches the genre with plenty of humour and self-deprecating wit. The songs evoke memories of the 1970s and combine nostalgia with a distinctly joyful atmosphere.

Live, it turns into one big shared party: colourful costumes, eye-catching outfits, flowers, confetti and an audience enthusiastically singing along to the familiar lyrics are all integral to the concept. The band focuses less on aloof stage performances and more on close interaction and celebrating together. This creates an atmosphere that blends concert, pop party and cult event all in one.

Dieter Thomas Kuhn & Band have put a unique spin on German Schlager music, thereby building up an extremely loyal fan base. Their concerts have long since become a cultural phenomenon in their own right and are synonymous with good cheer, a sense of community and musical nostalgia. The concept really comes into its own at large open-air events in particular.
