Bonobo

Atmospheric electronic music blending downtempo, ambient, jazz and organic club sounds

Bonobo, whose real name is Simon Green, blends electronic music with influences from downtempo, trip-hop, ambient, jazz and world music. Acoustic instruments, warm basslines, complex rhythms and richly detailed electronic textures define his distinctive sound. His productions often come across as calm, profound and rhythmically driving all at once.

The focus is less on traditional songwriting and more on creating atmosphere and emotion. Instrumental passages and occasional guest vocals create a rich soundscape that ranges from intimacy and melancholy to moments of euphoria. Nature, movement, human connection and the fusion of organic and electronic sounds are recurring elements in his music.

In his live performances, Bonobo often expands his electronic productions into a full-scale Live band performance. Drums, strings, wind instruments, percussion and other instruments blend with electronic sounds to create an organic, dynamic concert atmosphere. The result is a fusion of a club experience and a concert, where both groove and atmospheric moments take centre stage.

With his unique blend of electronic music, jazz and acoustic instruments, Bonobo is one of the defining artists of the modern downtempo and electronica scene. His music bridges the gap between sophisticated electronic production and a warm, accessible live experience.
