Samra & Capital Bra

German rap: from street rap and trap to melodic hooks and major streaming hits

Samra and Capital Bra represent a defining era in modern German rap. Their collaborative sound blends street rap and trap with melodic choruses, catchy beats and an emotional edge. Whilst hard-hitting rap verses and bass-heavy productions create a powerful impact, sung hooks lend the tracks an accessible pop appeal.

The lyrics often deal with success, friendship, loyalty, money, relationships and life’s challenges. Personal experiences are interwoven with the typical self-promotion of German rap, with vulnerable and reflective moments finding their place alongside self-assured passages. In particular, the blend of street aesthetics and emotional melodies characterises their music.

Live, the songs really come into their own thanks to their familiar hooks and the raw energy of the audience. Powerful beats, catchy choruses and the distinctive voices of both rappers create an intense concert atmosphere. Classic rap moments blend seamlessly with big sing-along sections.

Thanks to their collaborative releases, Samra and Capital Bra are among the best-known names on the German rap scene. Both played a key role, particularly in the late 2010s, in establishing melodic street rap and trap in the German mainstream.
