The Hives are a Swedish rock band formed in the 1990s and are known for their explosive stage presence, catchy riffs and energetic sound. The band, led by frontman Howlin' Pelle Almqvist and guitarist Nicholaus Arson, mix garage rock with punk and are notorious for their distinctive black and white outfits and humorous, self-confident style.
With their album Veni Vidi Vicious (2000) and hits like Hate to Say I Told You So they became internationally recognised and shaped the garage rock wave of the 2000s with bands such as The White Stripes and The Strokes. Subsequent albums such as Tyrannosaurus Hives (2004) and The Black and White Album (2007) cemented their status as one of the most energetic live bands on the rock scene.
Even after more than two decades, The Hives are still famous for their captivating live shows and unmistakable sound. 2023 saw their return with the album The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons and proved that they have lost none of their wild energy.
