Lord Huron is an American indie folk band that was founded in 2010 by singer and guitarist Ben Schneider. The band originally hails from Michigan, but is now based in Los Angeles. Their sound combines elements of folk, rock and Americana with atmospheric arrangements and melancholic narratives that often create a nostalgic and mystical mood.
Her debut album Lonesome Dreams (2012) made Lord Huron known to a wider audience, especially through songs like The Night We Metwhich was later replaced by the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why achieved worldwide fame. This was followed by albums such as Strange Trails (2015) and Vide Noir (2018), in which the band further developed their sound and experimented with psychedelic and cinematic elements.
With their fourth album Long Lost (2021), Lord Huron continued their musical journey and deepened their characteristic style, which is often reminiscent of the music of past decades. Their music is characterised by poetic lyrics, dreamy melodies and a touch of western romance, making them one of the most unique and atmospheric bands in the indie folk genre.
