Luciano, whose real name is Patrick Großmann, is a German rapper of Mozambican descent from Berlin. He was born on 28 January 1994 in Bautzen and grew up mainly in the Schöneberg district of Berlin.
Luciano published his first tracks on the YouTube channel Locosquad. After his first mixtape "12812", he made his breakthrough with the track "Jagen die Mio", which he released with his friend Nikky Santoro. This success was followed by another mixtape entitled "Banditorinho".
His first studio album "Eiskalt" was released by Universal Urban in November 2017 and reached number 4 in the German album charts. His second studio album "L.O.C.O." was released in November 2018 and also reached number 4 in the German album charts. The third studio album "Millies" followed in August 2019, which also reached number 4 in the German album charts and was awarded gold in Switzerland.
Luciano was one of the first high-reach German-speaking rappers to release music in the already internationally successful UK Drill style. In 2022, he became the most streamed artist in Germany on the audio streaming platform Spotify.
Luciano is known for his creative music videos, the basic idea for which, according to the rapper, comes one hundred per cent from himself. In October 2023, Luciano opened the fast food restaurant "Loco Chicken" with a branch in Berlin and distribution via partner restaurants in several German cities.
Luciano remains a central figure in the German hip-hop scene and has had a huge influence on subsequent generations of rappers. His contribution to music and culture is undeniable and will be remembered for a long time to come.
