Massive Attack

Massive Attack is a legendary British band from Bristol that was founded in 1988 and is considered one of the most influential groups in the trip-hop genre. The band, consisting of core members Robert "3D" Del Naja and Grant "Daddy G" Marshall, combine electronic beats, dark melodies and haunting vocal passages to create an unmistakable sound. Their debut album "Blue Lines" (1991), which is the classic "Unfinished Sympathy" is often regarded as the beginning of the trip-hop genre.

With albums like "Protection" (1994) and "Mezzanine" (1998) cemented Massive Attack's cult status. Especially "Teardrop" from "Mezzanine" remains a landmark in modern music history and is recognised for its emotional depth and iconic vocals by Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins. The band frequently collaborates with various artists, including Horace Andy and Tricky, creating a diverse soundscape.

Massive Attack is not only musically active, but also politically active. They campaign for social justice and environmental issues, often through their music videos and projects. Their unique style and visionary approach to music and art have made them pioneers who have had an immense cultural impact for decades.
