**H-Blockx** is a German rock band from Münster that became famous in the 1990s with their energetic mix of rock, crossover and rap. Founded in 1991 by Henning Wehland and his bandmates, the band released their debut album *Time to Move* in 1994, which stormed the charts with songs such as *Risin‘ High* and *Move* and quickly achieved cult status. The band is considered one of the pioneers of the crossover wave in Germany and gained international fame, which also earned them appearances at festivals and tours throughout Europe.
H-Blockx's style combines heavy guitar riffs, catchy melodies and hip-hop elements, earning them a reputation for popularising the aggressive crossover sound. Their second album, Discover My Soul (1996), built on this success and cemented the band as one of Germany's leading rock acts. Henning Wehland's charismatic stage presence and the band's ability to switch between rock and hip-hop earned them a loyal fan base and a firm place in the German music scene.
After several line-up changes and a temporary hiatus in the 2000s, H-Blockx kept coming back with new albums and still occasionally play live shows today. Although they had their heyday in the 90s, the band remains a fixture in the German rock and crossover genre thanks to their energetic songs and the cult status they built up back then.
