**Limp Bizkit** is an American nu-metal band that was founded in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1994. The band consists of Fred Durst (vocals), Wes Borland (guitar), Sam Rivers (bass) and John Otto (drums). DJ Lethal joined later as turntablist. Limp Bizkit is known for their energetic mix of aggressive metal riffs, rap interludes and distinctive DJ samples, which made them one of the leading bands of the nu-metal movement of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Their sound and provocative lyrics appealed particularly to young listeners who could identify with the band's rebellious and angry attitude.
With their second album *Significant Other* (1999) and the mega-hit *Nookie*, Limp Bizkit achieved international fame. The follow-up album *Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavoured Water* (2000) consolidated their success and brought hits such as *My Generation*, *Rollin'* and *Take a Look Around*, which was also used in the soundtrack of *Mission: Impossible 2*. Their sound was loud, direct and outspoken, and Fred Durst's energetic stage presence and Wes Borland's flamboyant looks helped make Limp Bizkit one of the most controversial, yet popular bands of their time.
After a temporary decline in popularity and a lengthy creative break in the 2010s, Limp Bizkit returned with new projects and tours. Their 2021 album *Still Sucks* showed that they have retained their unmistakable style and continue to delight fans worldwide. With their unconventional blend of rap, rock and metal, Limp Bizkit remain an icon of the late 1990s and a defining influence in the history of nu-metal.
