Finneas, whose full name is Finneas O'Connell, is an American singer, songwriter, music producer and actor who has gained international fame primarily through his work with his younger sister Billie Eilish. Born on 30 July 1997 in Los Angeles, California, Finneas is not only largely responsible for the sound of Billie Eilish's albums, but has also established himself as a solo artist. He is known for his ability to write emotional and intimate songs that often deal with personal experiences, love and life.
As a producer, Finneas was responsible for the minimalist, genre-spanning sound of Billie Eilish's debut album *When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?*, which won several Grammy Awards in 2020, including *Album of the Year*. His unique production style, often recorded in a small home studio, combines melancholic melodies with modern pop elements. In addition to his work with Billie Eilish, Finneas has also written and produced songs for other artists such as Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello and Halsey.
Finneas also pursues a successful solo career and released his first EP, *Blood Harmony*, in 2019, followed by his debut album, *Optimist* (2021). His solo work is characterised by introspective lyrics and gentle, often acoustic instrumentation. Finneas has established himself as a versatile musician and creative multi-talent and is considered one of the driving forces behind some of the biggest pop hits of recent years.
